Sao Tome / Principe

A third of the main island of São Tomé is the protected Obo National Park and is distinguished by Pico Cão Grande, a skyscraper like volcanic rock. The capital Sao Tome is one of Africa's oldest colonial cities. Called the “African Galapagos” this lush world feels like paradise on earth. There are extraordinary opportunities for hikers, the underwater world offers snorkelling and scuba diving, and big game fishing attracts anglers from all over the world. It is also a source of world-class chocolate.

Guidelines On Climate

The best time to visit is in January, May and October. The two beautiful islands have two dry seasons. The first is December to February and the second is from June to September. The best time to go to São Tomé and Príncipe for bird watching – and there are a lot to watch – is October to March. February to May is when the heavens can open, but then paradise does need watering from time to time. Temperatures never waiver too far from the 27°C mark all year though.
